Woodland bear 🐻 adventure mixed with cardigan

The birth of the bear was on the 22nd of May when I began to work up his little legs. He’s been in my to do pile for a bit and had been waiting while I completed my Ubuntu dragon.

It took a few hours to get to this stage but has been much easier than the unicorn to make.

The reason he’s taken me a little longer than normal is I’ve been busily creating a cardigan at the same time.

The cardigan was inspired by Sarah who comes to our Lytham social as she had made the “Mollie Makes” cardigan and finished it off at one of our group sessions. I have not had the confidence to try another cardigan for a few years as I have one 3/4 done in the bottom of my project box but had problems with the sleeves and it put me off after pulling them back a few times.

That I think is one of the great things about our Seriouslyhookedup socials as not only do you make lovely friends but we inspire each other with our projects and we give each other confidence to have a go.

The parts of cardigan began to grow on our first Seriouslyhookedup weekend away.

My first sleeve began when we returned.

My second sleeve is slowly progressing. Can’t wait for it to be finished!

At our Lytham group I began to sew up the very long body and head of the bear. He is so soft and huggable. He is made from Scheepjes Linen Soft Heron and his little bow tie is made of Linen soft Hummingbird. Then his facial features are sewn on with a small amount of black. Much more suited to make for younger children to play with this pattern as no safety eyes are involved.
