We are pleased to announce our next chosen charity initiative! We're going to join Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's army of knitters and crocheters in helping them to make 30,000 knitted and crocheted poppies!

The project aims to mark the centenary of WW1. Blackpool Victoria Hospital has planned an impressive temporary memorial to be erected this November in the main entrance of the hospital. The installation will be interactive and used in a variety of ways to remember those killed or injured in conflict. The poppies will then be sold to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

If you want to make a poppy (or poppies - you can make as many as you like!) they can be crocheted or knitted and you can follow whatever pattern you like, all we ask is that the poppies are red with a black centre.

Here at seriously.hooked.up headquarters we have created a free crochet poppy pattern which can be found here however any crocheted or knitted poppies will be accepted, so if you have a go to pattern please use that and feel free to share it to our facebook page www.facebook.com/srslyhkdup

We want to reach as many people as possible, so if you could hashtag your poppy photos on facebook, instagram and twitter with #TheGreatBTHKnit AND #SHUpoppy we'll be able to find and share them! When you send your poppies we'd be grateful if you would include a little note with your name and location so that we can see how far our campaign has reached!

If you'd like to help, please send completed poppies to:

Nigel Fort,
Main Entrance, Blackpool Victoria Hospital,
Whinney Heys Road,
Blackpool,
FY3 8NR.

And thanks so much!
